Bio: The music of You You Dark Forest serves as a microcosm for the collective experiences of its members. The name was born from a topic of understanding among the members: their appreciation for the overwhelming feeling of being a part of something that is much bigger and greater than yourself. Thus walking into the dark forest is humbling but also filled with an exploration for nature’s wisdom; it is the coming to terms with our seemingly insignificant humanity, and yet, it is also that infinite journey for meaning and depth. An alternative, but no less accurate sketch of the band is: You You Dark Forest is a collective of humans working diligently, dependent on one another’s skills, and with one objective in mind: to create something of beauty. Despite the unique backgrounds of the members, they are unified in their pursuit of what can be learned from seeking into the unknown. This union creates the product of the dark forest: a musical language used to communicate experiences which words cannot.

Bio: The buzz is beginning to rise up and surround this 3-man band thanks to their catchy riffs, jammin beats, quirky lyrics – and unique name. Sure, there’s a bit of “Hillbilly” behind what they do… but there’s a whole lot of “Shakespeare” too. Their 60′s influenced Garage Rock is infused with a tinge of Alternative Country and a hint of Blues. Their debut CD, No Great Shakes, showcases the band’s raw talent and eclectic writing. From the rockin “She’s So” to the quirky “Whale Song”, their sound is something that can only be described as unique to Hillbilly Shakespeare. They are currently working on their 2nd CD, titled “Well Hey By Golly Gee Whiz”
